The Godfather Of the Patriot Movement..

What would Barry do? and no mama isn’t talking about Obama, we know what he does and what he wants to do, I am talking about Barry Goldwater

In his 1964 presidential campaign, he talked about the need for smaller government. His view was considered quaint. Today the choice appears to be between smaller government and bankruptcy.

When Goldwater said Social Security was actuarially unsound, many scoffed. Today few economists deny the problem.

If Americans weren’t so selfish in the sixties, and had recognized the insanity of the “share the weath” mentality, we wouldn’t be on the precipice of bankruptcy in America 2011.

    • I have read that when the time came for the support to come back it did not, the he supported the mainstream candidate looking for the damnable elusive “consensus” which WE here at Unified Patriots are not looking for 🙂

  1. Jaded, it’s entertaining to remember how bitterly and vilely George Bush was castigated when he proposed some changes to Social Security just a few short years ago.

And now his ideas are positively mainstream. Just like you don’t hear the Left wailing on forever about the two wars and Gitmo much anymore– it all depends on the messenger for the Left, not the message.

  2. Goldwater was great with his message that smaller/less government was the ticket.. Reagan also agreed that the smallest government possible, while still holding a social cohesiveness among the masses was necessary. Goldwater actually supported the idea that abortion was in fact a “womens right to chose.” As a pro-lifer, I could not support Goldwater, or his moderate views on social issues, especially his positions on abortion.
