Great. Jimmy Carter is back in the White House

Anyone who can remember the Iranian hostage crisis should be having weak trembles right now because Barack just showed his soft underbelly to the Libyans (or as the White House tweeted, Lybia. Heh.)

As all h377 breaks loose over there, countries all over the world are getting their citizens home. What does this administration manage to do? Fail

The U.S. government came under fire today for chartering a rescue boat for Americans stuck in Libya that is too small to cope with the rough Mediterranean sea. …snip…

At the same time larger Greek and Turkish vessels have transported thousands of their own citizens to safety, crossing the choppy water to mainland Europe.

As they say, read the whole thing.

Greece, Turkey, China, India, all these countries managed to get their people out. While ours sat waiting for days on a boat that was too small to take on the job it was given.

Hmmm. Too small to take on the job it was given. Maybe this was exactly appropriate for President Present.

While U.S. citizens are finally getting out of Libya, many have rounded on the Obama administration for delays in the evacuation.

Speaking about the three day delay in the Dolores leaving Tripoli, Tony Munoz, Editor of shipping magazine The Maritime Executive, said: ‘I don’t understand why this vessel didn’t leave earlier – The Maria Dolores is a new vessel built for Mediterranean seas.

‘I can only imagine the captain was refusing to sail because he felt the vessel was not capable enough of taking the sea on.

Speaking to MailOnline, Mr Munoz said that there was no comparison between the 68 metre Dolores and the 204 metre Hellenic Spirit, used by the Greek government to evacuate its citizens from Benghazi.

‘The U.S. needed to charter a bigger boat like the Greeks’ he said.

‘The fully hulled Spirit will be more durable outside a port, this much bigger vessel could take the rough seas on.

‘There is no question about it, they [U.S.] should have been out of there long ago – why haven’t they chartered a bigger boat like the Greeks or Turkish.

‘At the very least, the government should have had a larger back up vessel on the way.’

(You knew that wouldn’t be via any American newspaper, didn’t you?)

Thankfully at least one load of Americans has escaped, though apparently there are more left behind. But if this administration intends to maintain America’s position in the world, they’d better pull their heads out of their nether regions and get their jobs done.

  1. If that chartered rescue boat collides with another rescue boat with Americans on it, Obama will have completed his transition to Jimmah. Sheesh, what a lack of leadership.

Oh well, I hear Saturday is rib night at the WH.
