We all know about the angst the Left and environmental groups have had about fracking. And please include our last president, Barack Obama as a major cause as well.
Even so-called Hollyweird has gotten involved against fracking as a cause celeb because of their washed-up careers (mostly) they have nothing else to do but cause trouble. We have Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono. Matt Damon, and Mark Ruffalo (who?) who managed to get himself on the Pennsylvania terror watch list because of his campaigning against one of the state’s major industries.
And let’s not forget Josh Fox, who made two anti-fracking
documentaries films claiming fracking can set tap water on fire. The first film only made $49,000.
Duke University has finished a three-year study on fracking and has concluded fracking does not contaminate ground water like the Left wants the rest of us to believe. From the Daily Caller:
“Based on consistent evidence from comprehensive testing, we found no indication of groundwater contamination over the three-year course of our study,” Dr. Avner Vengosh, professor of geochemistry and water quality at Duke, said in a press statement. “The bottom-line assessment is that groundwater is so far not being impacted, but surface water is more readily contaminated because of the frequency of spills.”
Although surface water can be.
After a 2011 earthquake in Youngstown, Ohio; scientists immediately tried to blame it on fracking there. But the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources concluded:
Geologists believe it is very difficult for all conditions to be met to induce seismic events. In fact, all the evidence indicates that properly located Class II injection wells will not cause earthquakes.
Even former EPA chief Lisa Jackson proclaimed fracking safe:
In no case have we made a definitive determination that [hydraulic fracturing] has caused chemicals to enter groundwater.
So there you have it folks. I can’t wait for the greenies reaction to this one. And I hope Matt Damon is still paying attention.
