joffre (1)Today marks the thirteenth anniversary of that infamous day in American history when Islamist terrorists hijacked three planes to destroy the Twin Towers and the Pentagon; and the second anniversary  of that infamous day in Benghazi when a President and Secretary of State that had irresponsibly maintained a consulate in a wild Libyan war zone for whom they denied sufficient security, refused to allow rescue operations when it was attacked by Islamist terrorists.

In between those 9/11s, a previous President removed an Islamist regime in Afghanistan, a user of WMD in Iraq and accepted the unilateral surrender of WMD possessed by a humbled dictator in Libya.

Yesterday, on September 10, 2014, we witnessed the successor President that inherited a decimated Al Qaeda enemy and a surge-improved Iraq save his most declarative statement for ISIS to boldly assert that:

“We will not fight on the ground.”

Think ISIS trembled? Not likely.

Contrast Obama’s machismo with the statement made a little over a 100 years ago by French General Joseph Joffre after the Great Retreat found the German army less than 10 miles from Paris:

“Gentlemen, we will fight on the Marne.”

No surrender monkeys were those French faced with the megalomaniacs of that day, when on September 12, 1914 their courage turned back the Kaiser and prevented his longed-for visit to the City of Lights.

But what of our American City on a Hill? You know, the one that finally turned back the British from Baltimore on September 14, 1814 (even with their Capitol and White House in flames), memorialized by Francis Scott Key that morning nearly 200 years ago when he saw the Star-Spangled Banner still flying over Fort McHenry. You know, the nation that threw off the bonds of slavery at home and freed millions abroad?

Not the one that treated Islamist terrorism as mere crime in the 1990s and yesterday declared it “not Islamic”.

We pray that our current and only Commander in Chief we have at this time will seek God’s wisdom, recognize it and the nose on his face, and quit surrendering every time he pretends to act tough. ISIS is on the ground with boots on. So must we be to defeat them and deter others. Would that we had a base in Iraq from which to wage war. But oh yeah, we did after President George W. Bush left office, which troops’ presence prevented the rise of an ISIS.

Hopefully, in November of 2016, Americans will declare:

“Ladies and Gentlemen, we will not vote for surrender-monkey Democrats on the ground.”

“One man with courage makes a majority.” – Andrew Jackson
